grapes of wrath part 7 chapt. 27-30

Chap. 27 says that there are alot of workers picking cotton. They said they're so many workers that some are not able to work and some get money even if they dont work. To make extra money, some migrants put rocks at the bottom of the cotton bags to make extra money. Chap. 28 says that the Joads are given a boxcar to live in and they have to share it. Where were they living before? Now that the Joads have enough money, they buy good clothes and food but when Ma Joad treats them with candy, a girl comes up and says that isn't fair that she got some. The girl picks a fight, but Ruthie says that her was killed by two men. Ma Joad rushes out and tells Tom that the secret has been revealed. Tom stays but Ma Joad says that he should go. Tom says that Casy would tell him to stay and do what is best. Chap. 29 says that its been raining for a long period of time and that their hasn't been any work to do. Men get out of hand and start stealing but they would remain strong. Chap. 30 states that its still raining and Rose of Sharon becomes ill and goes into labor. Pa Joad urges the men to build a makeshift but a tree falls down on the dam and destroys. Rose of Sharon delivers the baby, but does not make it. Uncle John makes a coffin and puts the baby in it, and lets it go down the stream. The water reaches the inside of boxcar, and the Joads leave to seek drier grounds. Al stays behind and the Joads leave. They find a barn, but their is a dying father and a son who is in it. The man hasn't had anything to eat and gave all of his food to his son to eat.

grapes of wrath part 6 chap.23-26

Chap. 23 says that when the people aren't looking for work or not working at all, they play music to release stress. Im wondering, what kind of music and what do they use for instruments. It also says that preachers preaches about evil and sin. Why do they preach? Anyway Chap. 24 says that night the farmers are planning to start the riot. Then a bunch of people go to a party while a bunch of men watch out for people who are trying to stop it. Tom and and a bunch of men look out after 3 men who might decide to do something. Then that night, a man tells a story about mountain people how they did this and that. I think that the man was making stuff up. Thats my theory. Chap. 25 says again how big landowners ruin little local farm owners land, and how they monopolize land. Small land owners debts go up, and how the wine goes bad. I wonder why the big land owners like to own a lot of land and that? Chap. 26 says that the Joads supplies are running low. So Ma Joad tells the family that they must leave to find work. Then a guy comes up and tells them that there is work for them picking peaches 35 miles away. When they get to the place, there was a mob. But they got in and only got 1 dollar for that day and they spent it on food and it wasn't much. The Joads were still hungry. That night, Al went looking for girls and Tom went investigating. Cops drove him away, but Tom sneaks past them. He finds Casy in a tent and he tells Tom want happened to him and that. Then cops and try to get Tom to leave but he wouldnt and he gets hit in the face by a cop. When Tom finds the family, he tells them they should go some were else to work. They do, at picking cotton, but Tom cannot work because he was hurt and do not want to get caught by the people who are there and they will be suspicion.

grapes of wrath part 5 Chapt.20-22

In chap. 20, the Joads do not have any money to pay for a proper burial, so they leave granmas body at a corner of the coroner’s office. But when the get back with the family, Floyd Knowles tells the Joads that their are no jobs available. The rules are harsh. I you discuss such possibilities, you will be marked red and and be dragged off by police. If you are put on the blacklist, you will not find any work. Harsh!!!!!! Tom and Kasy get into a fight with a deputy and Kasy will take the blame because Tom cannot get into trouble or he will be put back in jail. In Chap. 21, theres not much to really talk about. It says that California has Okies and that. Large farm owners drive little farm owners out of business and make people lose there job. Chap. 22. says when the Joads get to Weedpatch camp, they govern themselves. At the ranch, Mr. Thomas tells the men about Farmers Association, and how they should demand this and get this and start a riot. Well back at camp, the men go find work. When they get back, Tom found a job and Pa Joad and Uncle John did not.
