Huck Finn descussion 2

In the book, Huck wants to turn Jim in, but his conscience says maybe thats not such a good idea because maybe Jim would do something to Huck when he got free. Another one would be when Jim gets arrested for his escape of slavery. Huck decides to free Jim because he likes Jim and he's been there when he needed Jim. Huck conscience kicks in and he and Tom try to get Jim out of the barn.
I think that influences are still at work today because I think that people could make the right decisions, but they don't.
The forces that are available to try to change the "deformed conscience" are consoling. When people feel they need to do something wrong, they can get help from the consolers. In Huck Finn, Huck learns from the duke and the king. Then he realizes that what they are doing is wrong, so he does what is best for him and he doesn't listen to the king and the duke much anymore. Huck thinks that either the duke or the king turned him in so maybe he changes some of his ways.

Huck Finn descussion 1

I think when the book first began and to where we are now Huck Finn and Jim have changed. Huck would be a round character because in the beginning of the book, Huck was rude, would disobey widow Douglas and would do what is best for him. Now, Huck is starting to realize how to live better and earn money. Huck also starts to change how he acts in public and his relationship with Jim.
Jim would also be a round character because in the beginning, he was sitting outside of his cabin and waiting for somebody to come out so he could turn them in or something. When Huck first saw Jim on the island, they didn't really like each other. Going down the river, Jim starts to trust Huck. Now, Jim trusts Huck because Huck is trying to get Jim out of slavery and save his life.

The Adventures of Huckelberry Finn chap. 24-27

Huck is changing from being a rudeless person, being abused by his dad, and leaving home to do whatever he wants to do. Know that the king and the duke have came along here, Huck has been less mouthy, and becomes a little respectfull.

Huck has been learning that money is hard to get, living in the wilderness has been tough, and hanging around Jim on this long trip, Huck has been able to get along with Jim quite well so far.

Jim has been able to trust Huck with mostly everything. After what Jim told Huck about his family and how he might never see them again, changed Huck from not telling on Jim.

While in town, the duke gets a curtain for the play thats going on. After the curtain is up, people come and the king comes out on to the stage and and performs and makes the people laugh and laugh and when it was over, the audience wanted more, but no more was performed. The thrid night came and laughed their heads off. In the three nights they performed, they earned over 400 dollars. Huck and Jim are talking and Jim was asking Huck why he was hanging around the duke and the king. Then later, when Huck was asleep, he wakes up, Jim is crying because he misses his wife and kids. He wishes he could see them again, but Jim says he probably wouldn't see them ever again.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn chap. 22

It says that people were swarming Sherburns house to see what was going on. The mob tears down the wall and then Sherburn comes out on the roof, said nothing for a bit, then said something. Huck went to the circus and took his twenty-dollar gold piece, but didn't spend it. When Huck was at the circus, it was just a regular circus like today but then it was different. People were killed and the ringmaster didnt say a word to the clown. Then a man comes into the ring wanting to ride the horse, but he was drunk. The ringmaster first didn't let him, but then the ringmaster gives in and lets the man ride the horse. The drunk man gets on the horse and rides, then falls of and leaves the ring. When the circus was over, the duke came up with a handbill that would try to get people to come. The plays was going to be from Shakespeare and the duke said no ladies and children were not admitted. The duke hopes people would come and if they didnt he dont know Arkansaw.
